Making Liveable Lives - videos now available

Recorded videos of a crucial event on transnational LGBTQ issues are now available for viewing online. On October 7th 2016, the Liveable Lives project hosted 'Making Liveable Lives' - a one-day seminar for discussing what actually makes life 'liveable' for LGBTQ people in India and the UK. The event included four presentations:

  • Kath Browne and Nick McGlynn launched a new Liveable Lives report - 'Acting On Equalities?' - which highlights a concerning decline in English local councils' compliance with equalities legislation.

  • Ranjita Biswas and Sumita explored the history and vital work of Kolkata-based LBT activists Sappho For Equality, and LGBTQ politics across India.

  • Finally, Niharika Banerjea and Kath Browne introduced some of the project's initial findings - what LGBTQ people in India and the UK actually said makes their lives liveable or not liveable.
